U2, nuevos protagonistas del monumental tributo a Shane MacGowan (The Pogues)

U2 comparten su versión de “Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah”, una de las versiones del monumental tributo a Shane MacGowan, quien fuera cantante de The Pogues y uno de los artistas más admirados de Irlanda.

El próximo 13 de noviembre se publicará a través de Rubyworks "20th Century Paddy. The Songs of Shane MacGowan", un sorprendente tributo al que ha sido uno de los nombres más importantes y queridos de la música irlandesa desde los ochenta. Y los también irlandeses U2 son unos de los protagonistas, compartiendo su versión del tema "Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah", original de 1988.

También están ya disponibles las versiones de Bruce Springsteen, Kingfishr, Dropkick Murphys y Johnny Depp & Imelda May, que puedes escuchar bajo estas líneas.

Tal y como a MacGowan le hubiese gustado, al menos el cincuenta por ciento de los royalties de los artistas se donarán a la Dublin Simon Community, una fundación que ayuda a las personas sin hogar de la ciudad de Dublín. ¿Y qué nos encontraremos en "20th Century Paddy. The Songs of Shane MacGowan" al margen de la versión de U2? Pues nada menos que tres vinilos o dos discos compactos que incluirán hasta treinta y seis versiones protagonizadas por artistas del calibre de Bruce Springsteen, Dropkick Murphys, el recientemente desaparecido Glen Hansard, Johnny Depp & Imelda May, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Steve Earle, The Murder Capital, Primal Scream, Tom Waits o The Libertines, entre otros. Una edición especial incluirá un libro de sesenta páginas con imágenes inéditas, memorabilia y textos en memoria de MacGowan.
