Idles llaman a sus fans a manifestarse hoy online con Black Lives Matter

La banda británica de rock Idles insta a la gente a que se sume a la protesta virtual que ha organizado para hoy Black Lives Matter y que podría reunir a más de 100.000 personas a través de la aplicación Zoom.

Son muchísimos los artistas que se han sumado a las protestas por la muerte de George Floyd a manos de un policía, cada uno a su manera y en su país. Idles proponen sumarse a una protesta en streaming vía Zoom en favor de Black Lives Matter.

Llevan haciendo declaraciones contra las actitudes racistas desde sus inicios, por ello es lógico que se hayan sumado desde el principio a las protestas por la situación en Estados Unidos ahora mismo. Ahora proponen a sus fans que no puedan ir físicamente a manifestaciones o que todavía no quieran acudir a actos masivos a causa del Coronavirus, que se sumen telemáticamente a la protesta virtual que se ha organizado desde Black Lives Matter.

La protesta se llevará a cabo hoy mismo a través de Zoom y podrá reunir hasta a cien mil personas, además de incluir discursos a cargo de una larga lista de activistas. Si quieres sumarte a la protesta o sencillamente ver lo que ocurre, puedes seguirla AQUÍ.

The murder of George Floyd by white police officers in Minneapolis on May 25th has sparked a wave of protest across the globe. This weekend black communities and their allies are standing in solidarity to demand justice and fight the institutional racism that black people face on a daily basis. Black Lives do, have, and always will matter. COVID-19 makes demonstrating harder. Many people who want to join protests are key workers, immunocompromised, live with elderly people, or simply want to avoid crowds of people for their own safety. But it also makes taking a stand more important; another example of the institutional bias has been that twice as many black people have died from COVID-19. So to ensure everyone can make their voices heard in the London protest on Sunday June 7th, Black Lives Matter have created a virtual protest via Zoom where up to 100,000 people will join, with footage broadcast live from the protest, virtual protesters adding their voice to the crowd and speeches from a range of activists.
