Responsables de una trilogía de EPs entre 2010 y 2011 que los puso en el punto de mira dentro y fuera de nuestras fronteras, Downliners Sekt anuncian hoy su separación tars 16 años de existencia como dúo. Una noticia que pilla por sorpresa a casi todo el mundo, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta que todavía el año pasado firmaban por Infiné y lanzaban el muy bien recibido "Silent Ascent" (Infiné, 14), que estrenamos precisamente en MondoSonoro.
Este es el comunicado íntegro con el que se despedían hoy a través de Facebook:
"So this is goodbye…
It’s been 16 years since we started making music together as Downliners Sekt and we’ve spent some of the best times of our lives working to keep this project alive. From the very beginning we’ve been committed to delivering the best music we could create, experimenting and always pushing forward, awaiting the day we would be listened to and understood as an original act.
A thousand-mile-journey is never made by fretting about how long it will take or how hard it will be. Ours turned out to be a very long, exciting and fulfilling one. When we look back, we are nothing but happy and proud. But now we feel the time has come to end this chapter of our lives and follow different paths. We will continue making music, sure, just not together.
We’d like to thank all of our friends, who gave us their unyielding support throughout this epic adventure. Thanks to all those who collaborated and offered their assistance, and who most times asked for nothing in return. Thanks to every promoter who gave us the chance to play live. Thanks to the management at Live in Dallas for their hard work. Thanks to the labels b:cuts,
