Ellos, al leer lo que acabo de escribir ya estarán levantando cejas de incredulidad y esperando a ver qué burradas voy a contar sobre “Los peces de colores”. Pocas bandas conozco tan buenas y con tan poco alarde exhibicionista. “Nos dice Santi (García) que tiene que ser un disco con canciones bonitas”, comentaba Artur Estrada hace un par de meses. Pues lo son. Son bonitas, muy bonitas y, chaval, celebro que esa voz se haya venido arriba para este trabajo porque las letras lo merecen. Las canciones lo piden también, unas composiciones estructuradas sobre los instrumentos de tres músicos impresionantes en su estilo, contundentes, imaginativos e incansables. Lo primero que pensé al escuchar este disco es que me faltaban una “Sagrada Familia” o una “El día de mañana”, pero tras varias escuchas intercaladas con sus anteriores trabajos, puedo afirmar que no las echo de menos, que este disco, en conjunto, no necesita de esos hits, que a lo mejor brillaron tanto al estar rodeados de temas menos generosos. Aquí lucen todas, “Dulce y ácida”, “Níquel, canela”, “Te debo un baile”, “El ataque” o “La maleza”. Las canciones más bonitas de los Nueva están en este disco, unas cuantas escuchas y están, irremediablemente, en tu cabeza.

Thanks, Jay! I knew the Mac software had been adneboand, but I didn't realize the Windows equivalent was also put to pasture. While I always pushed for some sort of universal web client, we give up a certain amount of control in terms of video window size/placement. Also, the stand alone software offered some other advanced configurations (related to IP and streaming) that I don't think are available in the web experience. I like the idea of offering both, although it's probably a development burden. Does the Safari plugin still require you to run Safari in 32 bit mode? Anxiously awaiting Chrome support as it's my preferred browser on OS X. Also waiting to hear more about SlingPlayer for Connected Devices don't make me corrupt your beta testers (further).
